Inventor. Problem-solver. Engineer. Prepare to be immersed in a series of building challenges for our friend Hypotenuse the Moose!
Throughout the week, explore critical reasoning and creative thinking as you — yes, YOU — design and build moose-friendly objects, from a sink to a playground. Brainstorm different ideas, design a potential solution (or two or three), prototype your plan, and build a model to test with your very own cardboard Hypotenuse. Can you make a portable tent for Hypotenuse to camp under? And how exactly would a moose play mini golf? If you like to think and tinker with creative challenges, we need you on our team!
This course meets daily for 90 minutes.
Design, build, and invent using a variety of materials and methods
Develop creative thinking skills for outside-the-box solutions
Uncover the basic principles of engineering and design
Use a tabletop cardboard moose model (provided by EXPLO) to prototype various design and engineering projects
Creative Problem-Solving students will receive a Curiosity in Action™ box with most necessary materials. Basic grocery store or household items may be required for some sessions. A detailed list of what’s included in your box and other household items can be found here.
This course requires us to ship the Curiosity in Action™ Box to arrive prior to program starting. Due to current international shipping constraints, we are unable to deliver to addresses outside of the continental United States.
We ask that students enrolled in this course have access to a desktop or laptop computer and a stable internet connection. A printer is recommended, but not required.
