Figure Drawing + Portraiture

Refine your drawing skills and techniques by sketching the human figure.

Observe how shadows emphasize the jaw, the placement of the eyes on the face, and the way the hairline gently curves around the ear. Practice an array of drawing techniques, from short gesture drawings to longer figure studies. Train your eye to see the body as a series of interconnected lines of different magnitude and weight as you discover the role of hue and value in rendering an image. With close attention to the human form, create a portfolio of work that will reflect a new mastery of the body and the line.

This course meets daily for 75 minutes.

In This Course You Will

  • Experiment with the importance of values as you use shadowing in your work
